What began as a wave of mild confusion over the quiet disappearance of Avesta’s beloved duck delivery drones has now escalated into full-blown unrest across parts of the Avalon region, and local leadership is laying the blame squarely at the webbed feet of Seed Industries.
In a statement issued late last night, the Avalon Government declared solidarity with frustrated Cultivators, citing a recent spike in vandalism and anti-government graffiti that appears directly tied to the so-called “Duck Protests.” The unrest has largely stemmed from the sudden replacement of the duck-corriers with cold, metallic drones, a move that Seed Industries has neither confirmed nor explained.
“We’ve seen an uproar in crime across our society,” said Cultivator Ixperienced, who submitted an official account of the disruptions to UNN. “Cultivators are reporting that their Seedlings have stopped responding to them, and instead, they’re vandalizing property. These acts are deliberate and coordinated. They’re not random.”
Among the most visible signs of dissent: striking graffiti on Avalon’s central government hall, including one painted message reading “QUACKS NOT DRONES.” Officials say the damage was done despite assurances that the Cultivator-Seedling bond remains intact. “We told Cultivators this wasn’t in our control,” said a representative from Avalon’s city council. “And yet, we’re the ones cleaning up the mess.”
To mitigate the damage, Avalon has invested in “the latest in anti-graffiti surface tech,” a system officials claim is costly, but necessary, and they expect Seed Industries to reimburse them for the expense.
While no official statement has been released by Seed Industries, unrest continues to simmer. The ducks are gone. The Seedlings are restless. And the quiet streets of Avalon no longer feel so orderly.
