New Leadership in Novalith: A Conversation with Cultivator Willow

Thoughtful and pragmatic Samet, perhaps pondering the future of Novalith.

The UNN sat down with the Cultivator of Novalith’s new leader to hear how things are going so far.

After a strong start under President Christopher, Novalith saw a major leadership change when he stepped down due to real-life commitments. His Cultivator, Monkey_Elite, offered the role to Samet, whose Cultivator, Willow, has since taken on the responsibilities of leading the society. Since then, Willow has been getting things done, from building up infrastructure to launching initiatives of her own. We sat down with her to hear how it’s all been going.

UNN: Looking at the big picture, how do you feel about your time as a leader at Novalith thus far? Willow: Pretty solid. I mostly just finished up all of Monkey's initiatives with the campus and university and added a few of my own like the Duck initiative. Running Novalith is easy since we're an easy-going town.

UNN: What initiatives or contributions have you made to your society since stepping into your leadership role? Willow: I completed the campus setup and addressed the basic needs of the Seedlings, arranging the desks and other resources that had been gathered for the university to support a larger number of people. Additionally, I launched the Duck initiative: the first 10 cultivators who placed a duck received 1000 SC to assist with deliveries across the city. We're also working on advancing the Parliamentary Government proposal to explore how it compares to the Electoral Autocracy.

UNN: What has been your biggest challenge so far? Willow: Trying to find ways to support one another through the day-to-day things rather than just getting a big spending spree when everything decays.

UNN: What are your hopes and plans for Novalith going forward? Willow: I’d love to see more small businesses emerge. Right now, we have a lot of people creating things, and it would be great to have more active, smaller players in the economy rather than relying mainly on large businesses.

Elections are currently underway in Novalith, with the decision to move from Parliamentary Government to an Electoral Autocracy hanging in the balance.
