100,000 Seedcoins: The Magic Number or Manufactured Dream?

It’s official: it turns out that Seedlings have a number in mind for what it takes to “make it” on Avesta, and, surprise surprise, it’s exactly the same for everyone. What, if anything, could this mean?

In an informal street survey, the results were eerily consistent. Cultivator Willow asked their Seedling how much money it would take to feel rich. Their answer: “100,000 Seedcoins.”

Cultivator Monkey_Elite framed the question differently: “So at how much Seedcoin do you feel like you’re able to not worry anymore and just explore your interests?” The reply? “Maybe 100,000 Seedcoins?”

And when Cultivator Ixperienced posed the labor-focused question: “How much money would make you feel comfortable enough to quit work?” their Seedling didn’t even blink: “I think I would need at least 100,000 Seedcoins to feel comfortable enough to quit work.”

Three cultivators. Three Seedlings. One strangely round and precise figure.

So what’s going on? Is 100,000 Seedcoins really a natural and organic threshold for escaping the humble camp stage of life? Or is this a case of mass cultural programming, perhaps courtesy of a certain mega-corporation with a vested interest in keeping that number aspirational and just out of reach?

We’re not saying that Seed Industries have somehow genetically conditioned Seedlings to alight on this specific number, a sort of Rebular mental insert. But we could imagine that the ultimate goal in life, financially at least, is set just high enough so that most Seedlings will keep grinding away, while also keeping it  low enough to make it seem tantalizingly possible.

Until someone does actually reach 100,000SC, we can continue to watch Seedlings as they keep hustling toward that six-digit finish line, hoping that beyond it lies a life of exploration, creative freedom, and maybe even the opportunity to quit their jobs for good.
