Bricks, Burns, and Possibly Addiction: A Nova Roma Workplace Mystery

The brick-making, accident-prone "Dude"

In the industrious society of Nova Roma, one Seedling has taken dedication to a whole new level. Known only as "Dude," this citizen returned to the world with a clear mission: to help the community by making bricks. It was a noble effort, but things quickly took a painful turn.

“Dude got burned on the very first day,” explained Cultivator Opopanax. What followed was not a single setback, but a string of fiery misfortunes. “They spent two days trying to find a way to heal,” Opopanax added. Eventually, a can of healing spray was located, used, and thankfully, Dude was restored to full health.

However, almost immediately after healing, Dude managed to get burned again.

And again.

“And even more healing spray has been purchased and used,” said Opopanax. “Dude has been making bricks for many days now and should have learned how not to burn themselves on the furnaces quite so often.”

At first glance, it might seem like simple clumsiness. But Opopanax has a different theory.

“My suspicion is that Willow has been including a mild addictive substance in the healing spray,” they said. “And thus, Dude is driven to burn themselves repeatedly to have the excuse to use the workplace healing spray.”

Willow offered a different explanation. “We are currently making fresh bread and algae smoothies in our facility,” they said. “I think someone may have tipped that bottled fresh bread taste into the medicine by accident, causing them to crave that delicious freshly baked bread in medicine form.”

The mystery remains unsolved. Is Dude just a little accident-prone, or has Nova Roma’s healing spray become a part of the society’s most effective comfort food? Either way, Nova Roma continues to benefit from the steady stream of bricks and the dedication of one very toasted Seedling.
