Venatoria’s Subway System Is Up and Naming — Citizens Are Paying to Get Weird

Venatoria has unveiled a subway-naming initiative that’s got the whole city buzzing… and possibly slightly confused.

In a bid to combine civic pride with cold, hard cash, Venatoria has offered its citizens the opportunity to sponsor subway stations and, more importantly, name them whatever they like. That’s right: for the low, low price of 1000sc residents can permanently stamp their identities onto the city’s transportation map.

So far, three stations have been claimed — and, boy, are they already setting a tone.

First up: “Maize Central”, named by a local food enthusiast known simply as Taco. Whether it's a tribute to corn, culinary passion, or Taco's own deep-fried existentialism, no one knows for sure. What we do know is that the station has already inspired a pop-up street corn stand, three Instagram food bloggers, and one suspiciously corny mural.

Next came “MaowTown”, the creation of a mysterious figure known only as Maow. Is it a funky throwback to Motown with an extra syllable? A cat-themed utopia? A secret feline mayoral campaign? We’ll let you draw your own conclusions.

And last but not least: “Royal Plains”, sponsored by a local personality who goes by King Peky. Unlike the others, Royal Plains oozes class — or at least attempts to. Think velvet-covered ticket kiosks, classical music piped in at all hours, and a gold-framed portrait of Peky himself above the turnstiles. Because nothing says monarchy like a subway station next to a 24-hour noodle shop.

City officials are thrilled with the public response so far.

“I expected this to be fun,” said Elected Monarch Willow, “and I am excited to see what else people come up with for the other two corners of the city"

As Venatoria continues to expand its underground network, one thing is clear: this isn’t your average subway system
