WTH Just Happened?

'Did you just see that?', yes we've heard that too, and seen it. Or did we? What the hell just happened. There's been a major incident in The Eilo Archipelago and we at the UNN have been scrambling, we won't pretend otherwise. Whole buildings and Seedlings - wiped out. Scary stuff. Sometime last week something very strange happened (although we have seen stuff like this happening before, time dilations and what have you). We don't want to suggest it has anything to do with the simultaneous appearance of a portal of doom going nowhere, but we can't count it out.

So what happened? Well, there was a massive reset of progress in several societies. Seed Industries have once again shown to hold incredible powers over Seedling soceties, and seem to be able to give as easily as they take. Yes, we're blaming S.I. folks - it wasn't 'aliens', as Fiero of Sector-9 has suggested. We're rather going with the 'spiked water' line of inquiry. We expect more on that front, now that S.I. have launched Foundations. We can confirm that these soceities have lost a lot:

It's a sad day. Sector-9 was indeed a scary, dystopian place with runaway progress. Had their success anything to do with this 'reset'? We don't know for certain. Seed Industries have launched a compensation programme. We've been informed all affected Seedlings and Cultivators will receive recompense. But the trauma and event will live on in the lore inside each one of us on Avesta...
